The Weekly Collection Support Scheme is a challenge fund which makes up to £250million available to support local authorities in delivering weekly collections of household waste and recycling. Recently announced by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles, it represents a good funding opportunity for councils looking to retain weekly collections and introduce food waste services.
